PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The exhibition graphic design of Faith Ringgold: American People is inspired by pattern and color found in Faith Ringgold’s work. With a career that spanned six decades, Faith Ringgold created art in response to the complexity of the American experience, touching upon the civil rights era, gender, racial identity, social justice, and equity.
Informed by the artist’s rich color palette and textile work, The MCA Creative Studio developed a visual language to build awareness and amplify the exhibition across different touch points around the museum and across the city. The studio produced invitations, handbills, signage, posters, print and digital advertising that centered the importance of Ringgold’s career and underscored the MCA’s identity.
