PROJECT DESCRIPTION
After nearly a decade off the air, G4TV set out to relaunch its network uniting fans across gaming, comedy and pop culture. Key to the relaunch was creating a space that brought the G4 brand forward while staying authentic to its non-conforming roots. Every space was a backdrop for broadcasting and content creation. The driving concept transformed the studios logo or metaglpyh into a portal to different gaming and pop culture universes, stories, and aesthetics – a visual metaphor for a brand that served as a lightning rod for fandom across games. Murals showcase multiverse traveling spacemen coming into a portal with one look and coming out at a different location with another.
The artwork displayed throughout the studio space, from murals to screens to framed posters, consolidated the many characters, shows and sketches G4 put out over the years that define its identity. Color and clarity of line helped rein these ideas in and gave a consistent and creative studio vision. From D&D to Grand Theft Auto, Pokemon to Metal Gear Solid; G4 Studios is full of original artwork and loaded with internal culture ‘easter eggs’ that give a nod to the depth of its original programming.
