PROJECT DESCRIPTION
NYC-based award-winning firm TPG Architecture recently completed the design of the National Hockey League’s (NHL®) new 176,000 SF headquarters in New York City. To help translate the League’s spirit to the space, TPG’s Branding & Graphics Studio developed environmental and digital graphics that celebrate the NHL’s authenticity, passion, and grit.
Within reception, employees and guests are met with the NHL Shield, which inspired the office’s sleek design. On display is also a collection of photographs from the NHL’s archives, commemorating years of the League’s iconic history. The corridor to the executive suite includes graphics that pay homage to the uniforms and logos of all 32 Member Clubs.
Positioned around the U-shaped central stair is an 18-foot media wall that runs exciting digital content. Below reception is the Stanley Cup Shrine, featuring an engraved stainless steel wall of the past champions and a signed puck wall for visiting players to leave their mark.
Other areas around the workplace highlight graphics that speak to the game strategies, jargon, and culture. The corridors celebrate different hockey themes including trading cards, vintage posters, and game tickets. The collaboration booths also illustrate hockey blades, historical patents, and snapshots of the action on the ice.
